Second most popular commercial variety in Florida and is a relatively reliable fruit producer.
At peak ripeness the Brewster is truly delicious and in taste tests against other varieties consistently outranks all of the others.
Large & juicy, red fruit with delicious, sweet taste. As Brewster fruit ripens the small raised bumps on the fruit surface gradually smooth out.
The only complaint people have with the Brewster is that is tends to have a full size seed, although occasionally the seed will not develop, for reasons not well known and the outcome is a tiny seed referred to as a "chicken tongue".
Typically, Brewsters start to become ripe during the month of June and for last several years the season has ended during the 4th of July weekend.
